Joan Pennington Byrd, 69, Goldsboro, passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at Warsaw Health and Rehabilitation.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Joan was born in Wayne County July 20, 1946, to the late Hubert Pennington and Elizabeth Hood Smith.
She is survived by her son, Scott Hall of Goldsboro; one brother, M.A. Pennington of Goldsboro; three sisters, Barbara Collins and Treva Lare of Wilmington and Reva Ricks of Texas; half-brother, Darrel Pennington of Virginia; and her half-sister, Tyla Aycock of Nahunta.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
