GAYLE L. JERNIGAN
March 28, 1948-Feb. 10, 2016
Gayle Lavone Jernigan, 67, left this world to be with Jesus late Wednesday evening while surrounded by her family.
Gayle was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, whose love for life and others was apparent to all who met her.
Gayle was born in Davidson County, Tenn., March 28, 1948, to the late William Lavon Curtis and Virginia Nimmo Curtis. She was married to the late Harold F. Jernigan.
Gayle had worked as an LPN for many years with Howell Child's Care in LaGrange.
She was a generous and gracious woman. Gayle will be remembered for the love and laughter that she shared during her well-lived life.
A service celebrating Gayle's life will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, at Watery Branch Free Will Baptist Church in Fremont, with the Rev. Dan Fabricatore officating. Interment will follow in Pineview Cemetery in Seven Springs.
Gayle is survived by her children, Franklin Jernigan, Virginia L. Adams, Holly Denise O'Shea and husband, Bob, and Clayton Cole Jernigan and wife, Jamie; her grandchildren, Joshua Adams and wife, Jenny, Jared Adams, Jacob Adams, Caleb Jernigan, Margaret Gayle O'Shea and Cornelius O'Shea; and great-granddaughter, Adalie Adams.
She is also survived by one brother and sister.
The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, 1300 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C.
