JASON MONROE LANE

Jason Lane, 38, passed away suddenly at his home Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016.

Born and raised in Wayne County, he was an avid lover of the outdoors.

Jason was the owner/operator of Firewood Express, and worked with Gary Jackson Grading and Construction for many years.

Jason is survived by two children, Brittney and Austin Lane of Raleigh, and his fianceé, Leanne Moore, and her son, Thomas Benson, of the home.

In addition, Mr. Lane is survived by his parents, Pat Kendall of Goldsboro and John and Wanda Lane of Seven Springs; his grandparents, Dorothy Lane of Mount Olive and Ann and B.J. Lee of Mount Olive; his sisters, Crystal Smith and husband, Paul, of Goldsboro, Amber Lambert of Goldsboro and Kayla Lane of Seven Springs; a niece and nephew, Savannah and Hunter Smith of Goldsboro; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mr. Lane was preceded in death by a twin brother, John Steele "Jay" Lane; a maternal grandfather, Tiny Graham; and paternal grandfather, John Monroe Lane Sr.

The memorial service to honor Jason will be held Monday, Feb. 15, at 7 p.m. at Waynes Chapel Church on Emmaus Church Road, followed by visitation. The family will receive friends other times at Jason and Leanne's home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tyndall Funeral Home.
