Mrs. Eva Mae Howell Arrington, 96, 101 Morrison Drive, Smithfield, N.C., departed her earthly life Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at Barbour Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Smithfield, N.C.

Eva was born in Wayne County Sept. 16, 1919. She was born to the late Mr. Jonah Howell and Mrs. Sarah Moses Howell.

She received some of her education in the Vail and Pikeville elementary school system of Wayne County.

Mrs. Arrington was preceded by her parents; her husband, William Arrington; one sister; and five brothers.

Mother Arrington's hobbies included singing, gardening and sewing.

Sister Arrington had been a member of Elm Grove Church of Christ since 1932. She served her church as a Sunday school secretary and musician for No. 2 Choir, sang in the senior choir, was a kitchen helper and she served as the secretary for No. 2 Choir for many years.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Elm Grove Church of Christ, 118 Booker St., Pikeville, N.C. Apostle Kenneth Vaughn will officiate.

Interment will follow in Hooks Grove Church Cemetery, 290 Hooks Grove Church Road, Pikeville, N.C.

Also, a public viewing will be held Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, from noon to 12:50 p.m. at Elm Grove Church of Christ, 118 Booker St., Pikeville, N.C.

Mother Arrington leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories to her son, Mr. Clinton Bizzell and wife, Elizabeth, of Smithfield, N.C.; her brother, Mr. Brutus Howell of Goldsboro, N.C.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, the family members and friends will assemble one hour prior at 11:30 a.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., in preparation for the funeral procession.

Flowers may be sent to McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., beginning Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
