Betty Jane Johnson, 68, Smithfield, died at Johnston Medical Jan. 6, 2016.
Born on July 29, 1947, in Pensacola, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Joseph G. and Bettie Woodard Miller.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, in the chapel of Underwood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery near Four Oaks.
Surviving are sons, Joseph C. "J.C." Johnson of Pikeville and Eddie Johnson of Pittsburgh, Pa.; "son," James Wilson of Pikeville; daughter, Janet Johnson of Princeton; "daughter," Renee Tart of Princeton; brothers, Doug Miller of Goldsboro, Vic Miller of Seven Springs and Sam Miller of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Madelyn Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Heather Tart, Michael Baker, Gabrielle Johnson, Noah Johnson and Logan Johnson; great-grandchild, Shae Tart; and special babies, Buddy, Cocoa, Curley, Ruffis and Aussie.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her son, Cecil Wayne Johnson, and by her sister, Monnie Broughton.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016.
