ELLEN ROWE KIRBY

Ellen Rowe Kirby, 93, of Pikeville passed away on Christmas Day at her home surrounded by her family.
Ellen was born in Wilson County on March 20, 1922, to the late Andrew Jackson Rowe and Bertie Pittman Rowe. She was married to the late Carlyle "Bunk" Kirby. Ellen had retired as a cafeteria worker with Nahunta School. She was a member of Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
A service celebrating Ellen's life will be held Monday, Dec. 28, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. John Massengill officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Pikeville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Faye and Clark Parrish, 101 Amelia Court, in the Hooks Meadow Subdivision, off of Highway 581 North.
Ellen is survived by her daughter, Faye Parrish and husband, Clark; son, Danny Kirby and wife, Beth; brother, Isaac "Mutt" Rowe and wife, Lorraine of Pikeville; grandchildren, Kim Parrish Radford and husband, Mark of Hampstead, Andrew Kirby and wife, Stephanie of Goldsboro, and Christian Kirby of Goldsboro; and great-grandchildren, Joshua Radford, Leslie Radford, Jacob Kirby and Annalise Kirby.
We would like to give a very special thank you to the wonderful caregivers, Carol Warren, Brenda Witherspoon and Annette Howell for the love and care they provided for Mrs. Kirby during her declining health. Simple words cannot express our gratitude.
