CAROLYN HOOKS HOWELL

Carolyn Hooks Howell, 73, Pikeville, died Thursday evening at her home.

Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Myde Hooks, and was the wife of the late Charles E. Howell.

A graveside service will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Doug Seymour officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.

Carolyn was a member of Blended Fellowship Church in Pikeville, and had spent most of her life sitting and caring for others.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Tammy Howell of Goldsboro; a stepson, Charles Edwin Howell Jr. of Dublin, Ga.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Myra Howell of Pikeville and Catherine and Curtis Boyette of Mills River, N.C.; three brothers, Edsel Hooks, Aaron Hooks and Selby "Tommy" Hooks all of Goldsboro; two sisters, Layune Taylor of Goldsboro and Virgie Bell of Las Vegas, Nev.; two grandchildren, Andrew Jordan Howell and Emilee Howell; and one great-grandchild, Paislee Sawkiw.
