George Henry Best Jr., 72, Goldsboro, passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at his home.
George was born in Wayne County Oct. 24, 1943, to the late George Henry Best Sr. and Gladys Rackley Best.
He was a retired truck driver with Pope Transport Co. in Mount Olive.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at Best Family Cemetery, with the Rev. Bill Cotton officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service at the cemetery.
George is survived by his daughters, Carla McDaniels and husband, Paul, of Smithfield, Teasa Burdette of Goldsboro and Wendy Rhodes and husband, Michael, of Albertson; brother, June Bug Smith; sister-in-law, Doris Best; grandchildren, Christopher McDaniels, Chelsey McDaniels, Summer Smith, Hailey Wells and Ashlyn Rhodes; and his special companion, "Sweetie Pie."
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a son, Gary Best.
