Mr. Bennie Arthur Jeffris, 56, Clayton, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at his home.
He was born Jan. 28, 1959, in Johnston County.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Earl Hayes, and his adopted father, Walter Arthur "Skip" Jeffris.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 24, at noon in McLaurin Funeral Home chapel, with the Revs. Robert Smith and Kevin Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park.
He is survived by his two daughters, Ramona Degumba and husband, John, of Franklinton and Michelle Johnson of Raleigh; his mother, Lillie Gertrude Howard and stepfather, Frank, of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Ronnie Jeffris and wife, Marsha, of Mount Olive; three sisters, Lib Smith and husband, Joe, of Goldsboro, Faye Westbrook and husband, Douglas, of Mount Olive and Evelyn Miller and husband, Raymond, of Macclenny, Fla.; five grandchildren, Zachary Ward, Matthew George, Alex George, Hannah George and Christopher Aiden "Bubba" George; six nieces; three nephews; two great-nieces; and 10 great-nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton.
