Dale Edmund West, 82, died Saturday afternoon at his home surrounded by his loving family and his best buddy, Fred.
Dale was born in Gresham, Ore., on Jan. 6, 1933, to the late Edmund and Gladys West. He was a proud United States Air Force Veteran who served in Korea and Vietnam.
A service celebrating Dale's life will be held Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015, at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the service. A private military interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Dale is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Maureen Cox West; brothers , Donald West of Oklahoma, Gerald West of Washington; sons, Robert West and special friend, Rosa Bennett of New Bern, Brian West and wife, Angela, of Clayton, Michael West and wife, Stephanie, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Blake Wright Quinn and husband, Dylan, Brianna West, Hunter Dean, Rachel West, Michael West, Alyssa West and Garrett West; and great-grandchildren, Bryce Lee, James Quinn, Devin Logan and Lydia Quinn.
