Died Oct. 9, 2015

The Rev. Eugene S. Warrick went to be with his Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, Friday morning, Oct. 9, 2015. He was 82 years old.

He was the loving husband of Barbara D. Warrick for 58 years and the son of the late Luby A. and Ina K. Warrick of Grantham, N.C.

His education included Campbell College, Fruitland Bible Institute and Southeastern Seminary, all in North Carolina.

Eugene was a pastor in various churches in North Carolina from 1962 to 1974. He also pastored at Silver Spring Baptist Church in Silver Spring, Pa., from 1974 to 1978 and Lakehurst Baptist Church, N.J., until 1982.

He returned to his hometown in North Carolina, and then actively recruited volunteers for various kinds of service with SBC Home Mission Board from 1983 to 2000.

Eugene and his wife recently moved back to Pennsylvania to be closer to family.

He was a member of Silver Spring Baptist Church in Columbia, Pa., the church he had pastored in earlier years.

Eugene enjoyed fishing, gardening, taking walks, being outdoors, tinkering in the shed, reading and conversations with anyone he met, friend or stranger.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, his faithful and loving caretaker, he is survived by his daughter, Gena, wife of Ed Fisher of West Hempfield Township, Pa., and his son, Joby of Centreville, Va., married to Maryanne.

Four grandchildren also lovingly remember their Papa, Brant Fisher of Pittsburgh, Pa., Erin Fisher Josephian of Washington Boro, Pa., Victoria Warrick of New York, N.Y., and Andrew Warrick of Virginia.

Eugene is also survived by two sisters, Linda Harris of Goldsboro, wife of Bill, and Betty Best of Grantham, N.C.

His brother was the late George A. Warrick of Grantham, N.C.

Services for Pastor Warrick will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Falling Creek Baptist Church, Falling Creek Church Road, Goldsboro.

The family will receive visitors from 1 to 2 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
