Larry Crawford, 67, passed away on Saturday afternoon at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.

Larry was born in Wheelright, Ky., on Sept. 2, 1948, to the late Manis and Florence McCray Crawford. He retired as a senior master sergeant from the United States Air Force after 26 years of honorable service to his country. Following his military career, Larry worked with the United States Postal Service in LaGrange and retired after 18 years of service.

Larry had a wonderful sense of humor and never took himself too seriously. He was a good husband, a great father and had a generous heart. Larry provided a wonderful home for his family and gave all he could to his family and strangers alike. He will also be remembered as a true Kentucky Wildcats fan.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro and on Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home in London, Ky. A service celebrating Larry's life will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Brother Jerry Brown officiating. Entombment will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, Ky., with full military honors.

Larry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jacqueline Caudill Crawford; daughter, Tracy Blackmon and husband, Christopher of Goldsboro; sister, Susan Gindele of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers, Charles E. Crawford of Lexington, Ky., Manis Crawford Jr. of Milwaukee, Wis., and Timothy Crawford of London, Ky.; and two grandchildren, Larry Cody Crawford and Autumn LeeAnn Blackmon.
