Bernice Jernigan Gooding, 80, of Pikeville went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, Oct. 3, at home.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont. The family will receive friends following the service.
Mrs. Gooding was born in Wayne County on Sept. 18, 1935, to the late Troy and Rebecca Evans Jernigan. She was a member of Belfast Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She is survived by one son, James Edward Gooding of Roanoke Rapids; three daughters, Patricia Ann Radford of Snow Hill, Deborah Minshew and husband, Edward Earl of Faro and Betty Radford and husband, Larry of Kenly; two sisters, Ellen Gooding of Pikeville and Peggy Hyatt of Dudley; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Gooding.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
