Donna Lynn Rusmissel Byrd, 215 W. Main St. in Mount Olive, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at Wayne Hospital. She was 57 years of age.
Mrs. Byrd was a loving mother to her four sons, was a homemaker and assisted her husband in operating of Byrd Insurance Services.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie Byrd of the home; four sons, Bart Byrd and wife, Mary, of Jacksonville, Josh Byrd of Wilmington, Jake Byrd of Pinehurst and Cole Byrd and wife, Katrina, of Norfolk, Va.; two grandsons, Luke and Andrew Byrd; a sister-in-law, Recka "Jenni" Byrd of Mount Olive; and her stepmother, Ursula Rusmissel.
Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Macon Woods, and followed by burial in Byrd Family Cemetery near Beautancus.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday, Oct. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m., and at other times, at the residence.
