Martha Rawlings, 69, Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015, in the comfort of her home.
Born in Princeton, N.C., to the late Walter and Gertrude Whitley Rawlings, Martha had been a resident of Bridgeport for the past 44 years.
She was last employed as a childcare provider with A.B.C.D.
She leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Alfonzo, Anthony and Terrell Reid all of Bridgeport and Tyrone Reid of New York; four brothers, Mack, Bobby Lee and Ronald K. Rawlings all of North Carolina and Horace J. Rawlings of Bridgeport; a sister, Alfreda Vick of North Carolina; six grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, 11 a.m. at Morton's Mortuary Inc., 25 Margaret E. Morton Lane, Bridgeport, with pastor Deborah Vereen officiating. Interment will follow in Park Cemetery in Bridgeport.
Friends are invited to the viewing Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
