David Earl Kornegay, 67, 311 W. Kornegay St., Mount Olive, N.C., transitioned Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
David was born May 17, 1948, to the late Roosevelt and Johnnie Lou Kornegay.
He is survived by six children, Deobrah Frederick (Tony) of Mount Olive, N.C., David Kornegay (Denise) of Manassas, Va., Felicia R. Bullock (Ty) of Greenville, N.C., Anthony F. Kornegay of Manassas, Va., Taniesa Kornegay of Goldsboro, N.C., and Anthony Price of Mount Olive, N.C.; six brothers; three sisters; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Payne Temple AME Zion Church in Mount Olive, N.C.
A time of viewing and reflection will be held Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Garris Funeral Home in Mount Olive.
