Betty Jean Overton Bedford, 82, Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Jean was born in Wayne County Jan. 29, 1933, to the late Charlie Lloyd Overton and Eula Mae Raynor Overton. She was married to the late Willie Melvin Bedford.

Jean worked as a bookkeeper for 35 years with A&P grocery store.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She will always be loved by her family, and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service celebrating Jean's life at 11 a.m. in the chapel.

Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Sandra Young and husband, Tony, of Douglasville, Ga., Barbara Bedford and friend, Doug Meeks, of Tacoma, Wash., and Ann Wagner and husband, Ken, of Goldsboro; sister, Arlene Smith of Goldsboro; brother, Charles Overton of Youngsville; grandchildren, Amy Russell and husband, Chris, of Douglasville, Ga., Adam Littrell of Denver, Colo., and Brooke Littrell of Los Angeles, Calif.; great-grandson, Jonathan Goldthwaite of Douglasville, Ga.; three
stepgrandchildren;
and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
