CAROLYN BELL HINES

Carolyn Bell Herring Hines, 72, resident of Scott's Store community, Mount Olive, passed away Wednesday morning, July 1, at Vidant Duplin Hospital.
Services will be held Friday, July 3, at 2 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with entombment following at Oak Ridge Memorial Park at Pink Hill.
Visitation will be at the funeral home before the service, beginning at 1 p.m.
Carolyn was a 1961 graduate of B.F. Grady High School.
Her places of employment included National Spinning, Mount Olive Sportswear, Boling Co. and Carolina Turkeys.
She is survived by her husband, J.D. Hines of the home; a son, James F. Herring Jr. and his wife, Tana, of Rose Hill; a stepson, Jamey Hines and his wife, Tracy, of Dudley; a stepdaughter, Melissa H. Daughtry and her husband, Randy, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Emmitt Herring, Gavin Herring, Michele Brown, Danyell Hines, Victoria Bedwell, Kelli Chandler and husband, Tyler, and Craig Daughtry; great-grandchildren, Alicen Brown and Olivia Jackson, with another on the way to be named Parker Chandler; an adopted daughter, Lil' Bit; two sisters, Patricia B. Davis and husband, Jimmy, of Mount Olive and Sandra B. Slavinski and husband, Steve, of Denver, Colo.; Donna B. Bell of Mount Olive, wife of deceased brother, J.W. Bell Jr.; a special cousin, Shirley J. Sandlin of Florence, S.C.; a nephew, Kevin Bell, his wife, Laura, and their children, little Kevin, Tatiana and Sabastian Bell; and a niece, Angel Bell Jones and her children, Zachary and Noah Jones, all of Mount Olive.
In addition to her brother, Carol was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Wilbert Bell; her mother, Retha Jones Bell Hill; and stepfather, Wiley "Tommy" Hill.
Knowing that Carol was a firm believer in the Lord, we have comfort in knowing she is in His presence -- suffering has ended, and eternal peace has just begun.
