GLADYS M. BARNES-ROSEBORO
June 3, 1940-June 16, 2015
Gladys Barnes-Roseboro was born in Goldsboro, N.C., to the late Solly and Madessie Barnes.
She passed at her residence in Southampton, N.J., surrounded by family.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Gladys graduated from Dillard High School in Goldsboro and Livingstone College in Salisbury, N.C.
During her teaching tenure, she taught in school districts in Washington, D.C., Florida and South Carolina.
Throughout the years, she was an entrepreneur in several businesses.
She was also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and Greenleaf Christian Church in Goldsboro, N.C.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Charles D. Roseboro (Sharon) of Southampton, N.J.; daughter, Tara D. Bowman of Southampton, N.J.; sister, Cassandra Barnes-Chisolm (Anthony) of Lakewood, Wash.; grandchildren, Deborah, Javin, Amari, Rachel, Nathan, Ciylan and Caleb; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend the memorial service for Gladys Friday, June 26, 2015, from 4 to 6 p.m. at The Lankenau Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Vincentown, N.J.
