Callie Hill Parks was born Sept. 17, 1921, in Duplin County, N.C., to Thomas F. Hill Sr. and Mary Catherine Outlaw Hill.

Mrs. Parks attended B.F. Grady and Salemburg schools.

At the age of 15, she married William Starr Parks in Dillon, S.C., and they were blessed with six children, Shelby Price and husband, Lynwood, of Seven Springs, Catherine "Bonnie" Lassiter of Seven Springs, Nina Hoy of Salisbury, Md., Sylvia Hack and husband, Bill, of Raleigh, Patton Parks and wife, Linda, of Seven Springs and Joy Judy and husband, Mike, of Mount Olive.

She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, Debbie Debnam and husband, Don, Callie Denise Outlaw, Chris Jernigan and wife, Kim, Starr Price, April Rose and husband, Tim, Yvonne Mills and husband, Danny, Amanda McCollum and husband, Mark, Cathy Fulcher and husband, Craig, Lynn Porter and husband, Dan, Heather Grady, Derrick Hoy and wife, Karin, Ricky Hoy, Mary Bradshaw, Angie Barwick, Patricia Myers and husband, Ron, Jennifer Judy, Christopher Judy and Sarah Judy; 51 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Paula Hill Ivey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband. William S. Parks; brothers, Thomas Francis Hill Jr., Erving James Hill, Willard C. Hill and Buckner Lanier Hill; sister, Beatrice Hill; infant son, Timothy Parks; granddaughters, Jennifer Jernigan and Cindy Bradshaw; and sons-in-law, Robert Lassiter and William Billy Hoy.

Mrs. Parks will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, farm wife and homemaker.

She was very creative with her hands, and enjoyed cooking, crocheting, painting, making dolls and ceramics.

She was a longtime member of Zion United Methodist Church.

Her long, good and gracious life will be celebrated in a service to be held Friday, June 19, at 6 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home. Officiating will be the Rev. Doug Johnson, with family remembrances to be shared by Mike Judy.

Visitation will follow the service. At other times, the family is receiving friends at the Parks' residence.

An entombment service will be Saturday, June 20, at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park Mausoleum chapel.

The family wishes to acknowledge her devoted caregivers, Callie Denise Outlaw and Pam Mozingo, for their untiring care, love and support, as well as the 3-HC hospice team for its end-of-life care.
