BILLY C. ELLIS

Billy Carr Ellis, 78, of Snow Hill, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
Billy was born March 20, 1937 in Lenoir County to the late Kirby Ellis and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Faulkner Ellis.
A lifelong mechanic, Billy had worked at Jones Pontiac-Cadillac, Snow Hill Chevrolet and later retired from Ellis Service Center. He was a member of Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. Billy enjoyed working with his hands and being everyone's handyman.
A service to celebrate and honor Billy's life will be held Monday, May 11, 2015, at 4 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Barry Teague officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Billy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dolly Mae Minshew Ellis; four children, Connie Ellis and fiance, Ray of Goldsboro, Ricky Ellis and wife, Amanda, of LaGrange, Rita Hare and husband, Tommy, of Goldsboro and Ronnie Ellis and wife, Kim, of Goldsboro; nine grandchildren, Ashley Tillman and husband, Jason, Jessy Hill and husband, Devin, Kimmy Tillman and husband, Josh, Brittani Ellis, Cassie Howell, Bailee Ellis, Chris Manning, Danielle Barnes and husband, Anderson, and Brooke Jones and husband, Stephen; four great-grandchildren, Haley Tetterton, Payton Hill, Riley Sanifort and Bentley Tillman.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by nine siblings, Martin "Van" Ellis and his wife, Nellie, Beatrice Wainwright and her husband, Marvin, Lucy Gay Stroud and her husband, Needham, Kirby Ellis, Hannah Turnage, Dixie Smith and her husband, Shine, and Baby Boy Marvin Ellis.
The family will receive friends Monday from 3 to 4 p.m. and at other times they will be at the Ellis home. Arrangements are with Rouse Funeral Home, LaGrange.
