Mr. Leslie Leon Suggs, 71, lovingly known by his family and friends as "Leon," 1700 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., departed his earthly life Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at the Brain Center Health and Rehabilitation in Goldsboro, N.C.

"Leon" was born in Wayne County Jan. 11, 1944, to the late Mrs. Bertie Mae Artis Suggs and Mr. John Leslie Suggs.

He received his education in the public school system of Wayne County.

During his working years, Leon was employed with Burlington Madison Yarn Co., where he served as a machine operator.

Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at 1 p.m. in Apostle D.L. McIntyre Memorial Chapel at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C. Pastor Thelma Davis will officiate.

Interment will follow in Old Mill Cemetery, 3748 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, N.C.

A public viewing will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015, from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Apostle D.L. McIntyre Memorial Chapel at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., with the family present from 5 to 6 p.m.

Mr. Suggs leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories to his wife, Mrs. Helen Artis Suggs; his children, Belinda Ashby of Goldsboro, N.C., Sharon (Cedric) Teagler of Fredericksburg, Va., Reginald Suggs of Goldsboro, N.C., Darrick (Toya) Suggs of Clayton, N.C., Tony Suggs of Goldsboro, N.C., Swindell (Rosdlyn) Coley of Greensboro, N.C., and Gary (Ranae) Jones of Philadelphia, Pa.; his nine grandchildren; his two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Wednesday, April 8, 2015, the family members and friends will assemble one hour prior at 11:50 a.m. at Mrs. Helen Suggs' residence, 222 Wayne Ave., Goldsboro, N.C., in preparation for the funeral procession.

Flowers may be sent to McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., beginning Tuesday, April 7, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
