ETHEL DAVIS EDWARDS

Feb. 23, 1927-March 4, 2015

Ethel Davis Edwards, Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Woodard's Care.

Ethel was born in Wayne County Feb. 23, 1927, to the late John W. and Mollie Bradford Davis. She was married to the late Charles Pearson Edwards.

Ethel retired from Southern Bell Telephone Co. after 40 years of service, and was involved in the Telephone Friends Club and the Telephone Pioneers.

She was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir.

Ethel will also be remembered for the many hours she volunteered at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service celebrating Ethel's life at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow in Pine Forest United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In addition to her husband, Ethel was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Kemp Edwards.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Charles Edwards, Carey Lynn Mommey and Wendy Edwards, and three great-grandchildren.
