Mr. Booker T. "Jack" McFarland, 89, lovingly known by his family and friends as "Jack," 219 Graham St., Goldsboro, N.C., departed his earthly life Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, N.C.

"Jack" was born in Dillon County, S.C., May 15, 1925, to the late Mrs. Leila Evans McFarland and Mr. Booker T. McFarland Sr.

He received his education in the public school system of Wayne County.

"Jack" served his country by enlisting into the military services. He served in the United States Navy, and received an honorable discharge.

Booker was employed with Dewey Brothers Co., where he served as a machine operator.

Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 7, 2015, at noon in Apostle D. L. McIntyre Memorial Chapel at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C. Elder James R. Moses will officiate.

Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 3888 U.S. 70 East, Princeton, N.C., 27569.

A public viewing will be held Friday, March 6, 2015, from 2 to 6 p.m. in Apostle D. L. McIntyre Memorial Chapel at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., with the family present from 5 to 6 p.m.

Jack leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories this wife of 65 years, Mrs. Edna Moses McFarland of the home; his three daughters, Olivia McFarland (James) Terry of Goldsboro, N.C., Sandra D. McFarland of the home and Felicia McFarland Wilkins of Wilmington, N.C.; his three sons, Theodore (Rhonda) McFarland of Raleigh, N.C., Booker T. McFarland Jr. of the home and Stephen K. McFarland of Atlanta, Ga.; his niece, Connie Best (David) Felton of Jamaica, N.Y.; his two sisters-in-law, Elma Jean Taylor of Dudley, N.C., and Wilma Faye Pugh of Augusta, Ga.; his four granddaughters; three grandsons; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends.

Saturday, March 7, 2015, the family members and friends will assemble one hour prior at 10:50 a.m. at Mrs. Edna McFarland's residence, 219 Graham St., Goldsboro, N.C., in preparation for the funeral procession.

Flowers may be sent to McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., beginning Friday, March 6, 2015, from 9 to 3 p.m.
