Randy Gene Brock, longtime resident of Faison, passed from earth to heaven Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 17, 2015, while a patient at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Faison Baptist Church, with the Rev. Paul Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Faison Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the church Saturday from 1 p.m. until service time.

Randy had served in the United States Army, and due to injuries, was awarded the Purple Heart.

Upon his return to civilian life, he began employment with J.P. Stevens Co. in Wallace.

Then he experienced his true calling -- becoming a police officer, first in Warsaw and later in Faison, where he served as police chief for a lengthy time.

He was a member of Faison Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara G. "Bobbie" Brock of the home; a son, Chris Brock and wife, Nicolasa Santos, of Faison; a daughter, Dawn Brock Bishop and fiance´, Jeffrey Thompson, of Mount Olive; four grandchildren, Ashley and Alyssa Santos and Skyler and Chloe Bishop; and four brothers, Danny Brock and wife, Shelia, of Faison, Mark Brock of Kenansville, Vennie Brock of Middlesex and Michael Brock of Faison.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gertrude and Albert Brock; a sister, Michelle B. Turner; and infant siblings, Shelia, Doane and Annette Brock.
