MAURICE "DICK" AUDET

June 14, 1934-Dec. 31, 2014

Maurice Richard "Dick" Audet, 80, LaGrange, went to be with Jesus Christ on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014, after an extended illness.

Maurice was born on June 14, 1934, in Lewiston, Maine, to his parents, Maurice and Cora Audet. He married his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth Janet Grant, on Nov. 27, 1954.

He graduated from Valley Forge Christian College and became a minister of the gospel. Maurice and Elizabeth, both ordained ministers with the Assemblies of God, served as pastors and evangelists for the majority of their 60 years of marriage. Maurice also served as a short-term missionary and as chaplain of Blowing Rock Hospital for 30 years.

Maurice is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; four children, Deborah Jessee of Raleigh, Susan Sauls of Lewisville, Texas, Michael Audet of Marshallville, Ga. and Daniel Audet of LaGrange; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate the God-honoring life and ministry of Maurice Audet on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Assembly of God, Fremont, officiated by Pastor Travis Moore.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the church or charity of your choice.

Maurice believed firmly in God's promise of eternal life. The family shares the same firm faith and is able to stand together and say, "We do not grieve as those who have no hope" and look forward to the day when "we will all be together with the Lord forever." I Thessalonians 4:13-18.
