EDNA L. HILL

EDNA L. HILL

June 11, 1936 - Nov. 18, 2014

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith, now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which is the Lord." -- II Timothy 4:7.

After a long sickness, Edna Earle Lee Hill, 78, a Christian wife, mother, grandmother and sister, joined her heavenly Father early on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014.

Raised on a farm in the New Hope area, she was the oldest living of 14 children born to Walter and Ethel Daniels Lee.

Throughout her life she worked tirelessly to meet the needs of her family, the many church families she served with her husband and in many school cafeterias in Wayne County, throughout the state and at Campbell University.

In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Fields; and a brother, Walter William "Bud" Lee.

As a mother, she always prayed and put her family's needs above herself.

She was always obedient to God's wishes in whatever she faced every day.

Her legacy to others would be to live and practice daily her motto of "Tell the world that I am a Christian."

Her heart was always trying to do good for others, and every day she prayed that the Lord would protect and guide her family.

Her message to all would be to always reach and follow God's direction in their life.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Seven Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rick Rigney and the Rev. Ashley Summerlin officiating.

Interment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Elliott Hill; two daughters, Denise Buffkin and husband, Danny, of Willow Spring and Patricia Jones and husband, Doug, of Seven Springs; a son, Dean Hill and wife, Barbara, of Reidsville; three granddaughters, Sheri Pabst and husband, Brad, of La Grange, Brandi Massey and husband, Matt, of Seven Springs and Jennifer Kendrick and husband, T.J., of Reidsville; two great-grandsons, Brady Pabst and Scott Massey; adopted daughter, Rachel Wilson Harper of La Grange; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane and Bobby Patton, Rebecca and John Gray, Linda and Rex Gurley, Peggy and E.C.
