Evelyn Louise Whitley Potts, 83, Snow Hill, died Wednesday morning, Nov. 12, 2014, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
A native of Greene County, she was born May 31, 1931, the daughter of Wiley Oscar and Lila Corbett Whitley.
She was a member of Howell Swamp Free Will Baptist Church.
Her husband, Z.D. "Zeke" Potts, preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at Snow Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Tony Glass officiating.
Mrs. Potts is survived by her daughters, Delbra Potts Thomas and husband, Willie, of Seven Springs and Janice Potts Barrow and husband, Stacy, of Snow Hill; a son, Johnny Ray Potts of Kinston; sister, Marie Corbett of Walstonburg; a brother. Johnny Whitley of Wilson; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service and other times at the residence, 206 Crestwood Drive, Snow Hill.
