Mrs. Louise Potter Alphin, 84, resident of Alum Springs Church Road, Mount Olive, passed away early Wednesday morning, Nov. 12, 2014, at her home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home. The Rev. Brad Bierowski will officiate. Interment will follow in Potter Family Cemetery, Piney Grove Road, Albertson.

The family will receive friends during the hour before the service.

A member of Alum Springs Baptist Church, in earlier years she had worked at Jan-Mark, and had been a lifelong homemaker.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Haney, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Candace Alphin of Pink Hill; three grandsons, Jim Gufford and Michael Haney both of Mount Olive and Bradley Pike and wife, Jori, of Sanford; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Family members who have preceded her in death include her two husbands, Jim Gufford and Ben Frank Alphin; two sons, W.T. Gufford and James Glenn Gufford; her parents, Walter Potter and Sudie Williams Potter Kornegay; her stepfather, Earl Kornegay; and a brother, James Potter.

Flowers are welcome or memorial gifts may be made to Alum Springs Church.
