Myrtle Ruth Dickerson Hanchey, 93, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until the funeral hour at the church.
Myrtle Ruth Dickerson Hanchey was born in Henderson, N.C.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Hanchey Smith and husband, Thomas, of Pikeville, N.C., and two sons, Thomas Nathan Hanchey and wife, Jean, of Durham, N.C., and Cornelius Sears "C.S." Hanchey and wife, Arleen, of Greenville, N.C.
She was blessed with five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brother, Sellers Dickerson and wife, Brenda; sisters, Orpha Evans and Juanita Lewis and husband, Charles, all of Greenville; sister in-law, Evelyn Dickerson of Washington; and several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Nathan F. Hanchey; a sister, Rheudell Dickerson Evans; brothers, Dallas Ward Dickerson, a causality in Korea, Charles Gorman Dickerson and K.B. Dickerson; and a grandson, Samuel Bert Hanchey.
