Rose Miller Dameron, 81, Hilltop Drive, Lexington, passed away Saturday evening at her home.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Doug Rowe and Dr. Lee Dukes officiating. Private inurnment will follow in the church columbarium immediately following the service, followed by a visitation in the fellowship hall of the church.

At other times, the family will be at the residence.

Rose was born Sept. 22, 1933, in Carthage, N.C., to Harvey Lee and Louise Yow Miller.

Rose attended Peace College in Raleigh and Queens College in Charlotte.

Rose was a homemaker, a member of First United Methodist Church, where she had served on the altar guild, the administrative board and was a member of the Spruill Sunday school class.

Rose was a member of Lexington Garden Club and Lexington Charity League.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William "Bill" Dameron in 2000.

Surviving are her daughters, Jane Dameron Worley (Andy) of Clemmons and Susan Dameron Fowler (Joe) of Salisbury; son, Scott Dameron and fiancée, Amy Lovel, of Lexington; grandchildren, Buxton, Hurst, Susan Barker and Hill Fowler; and stepgrandchildren, Amanda and Spencer Worley.

The family would like to extend love and appreciation for the Home Instead Team and CCU nurses and staff.

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to donor's choice.
