Bernice Delano Howell, 81, died Wednesday morning at Willow Creek.
Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late John Daniel and Annie Irene Lewis Howell.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and a retired electrician with Civil Service.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends during the hour prior to the service.
Bernice is survived by his brother, John Wayne Howell of Dudley; a sister, Betty Jane Cooke of Kinston; a niece, Jeanine Howard; three nephews, Ricky Cooke, Faron Cooke and Micahel Howell; and a special niece-in-law, Sabrina Howell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Darrell Cooke.
