Jo Ann Gardner Poythress, 67, resident of the Dudley area, died Wednesday, Oct. 1.
She had been a used car dealer, and had worked alongside her husband in their vehicle body repair shop.
Survivors include two sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn G. and Garland Starnes of Mount Olive and Audrey G. and Troy Coates of Garner; a brother-in-law, David Poythress and wife, Jeanette, of Goldsboro; several nieces and nephews; and two grandchildren, Billy and Mercedes Gagas of Rosbolt, Wisc.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis C. Poythress; their son, Dennis Carroll Poythress Jr.; her parents, Rudolph and Bertha Faircloth Gardner; and a brother, Billy Rudolph Gardner.
Graveside service to be Friday, Oct. 3, at 4 p.m. at Calypso Cemetery, with the Rev. J. Paul Rose officiating.
Family and friends may call at the Garland and Evelyn Starnes residence, 129 Tar Heel Drive, Mount Olive.
