MOTHER BRENDA KAYE JACOBS REID

Mother Brenda Kaye Jacobs Reid, 57, lovingly known by her husband and family as "my queen," 1802 E. Azalea Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., departed her earthly life Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Goldsboro, N.C.

Brenda was born in Wayne County, N.C., Oct. 28, 1956. She was born to the late Mrs. Lila Barnes Jacobs and Mr. Hugh Jacobs.

She received her education in the public schools of Wayne County, and graduated in the class of 1975 from Goldsboro High School.

Brenda met, dated and married the love of her life, Mr. Wiley Reid Jr.

Mother Reid was a founding member of Higher Calling Church of Christ, where she served on the mothers' board, was the president of the choir and sang on the praise team.

Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Goldsboro Raleigh Assembly Church, 211 W. Hooks River Road, Goldsboro, N.C. Pastor Patrick McKoy will officiate.

Also, a public viewing will be held Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, in Apostle D.L. McIntyre Memorial Chapel at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., from 2 to 7 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m.

Mother Reid leaves to cherish her precious memories to her husband of 39 years, Wiley Reid Jr.; two daughters, Artesha Reid and Namya Jacobs both of the home; three sisters, Brenda's twin, Linda (Marvin) Bowman, Sallie (Bobby) Lewis and Rose (Thedwood) Sherard all of Goldsboro, N.C.; four brothers, Hugh (June) Jacobs of Charlotte, N.C., apostle Dennis (Ravonda) Jacobs of Goldsboro, N.C., Chester (Oreta) of San Diego, Calif., and Michael Jacobs of Goldsboro, N.C.; three sisters-in-law, Betty Barnes, Janice Artis and Rose Artis all of Goldsboro, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Robert Artis also of Goldsboro, N.C.; a future son-in-law, Dovon Graham; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends.

Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, the family and friends will assemble at the residence of Mr. Wiley Reid Jr., 1802 E. Azalea Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., at 9:45 a.m. in preparation for the funeral precession.

Flowers may be sent to McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., beginning Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
