Robert Raymond Earnest, 84, Goldsboro, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Earnest was born in Bedford County, Pa., April 29, 1930, to the late Ellis Kramer Earnest and Audrey Margaret Mills Earnest.
He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service in 1971 with the rank of technical sergeant.
Mr. Earnest was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 2715 and the Disabled American Veterans Post 45.
He was also a member of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday school class.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Barry Williamson officiating.
The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Mr. Earnest is survived by his son, Bobby Earnest and wife, Sherry, of Goldsboro.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 752 Stoney Creek Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
