VELMA S. PRICE

Velma Swinson Price, 66, Seven Springs, passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014.
Velma was born March 18, 1948, in Duplin County to the late Ulysses Swinson and Bertha Brock Swinson. She was wife of the late John B. "J.B." Price.
Velma was a member of Seven Springs Baptist Church and Seven Springs Area Rescue Squad Auxiliary.
She worked many years as an administrative assistant with Dr. Louis Gigliano.
A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at 6 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rick Rigney and the Rev. Ashley Summerlin officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Grady-Price Family Cemetery.
Velma is survived by her son, Gary Price and wife, Christen, of Dudley; two grandchildren, Austin Gage Price and Emma Leigh Price; brother, James "Bud" Swinson of Seven Springs; two sisters, Betty Weber and husband, Clayton, of Seven Springs and Evelyne "Sis" Malpass of Faison; her mother-in-law, Edna "Ma" Price of Seven Springs; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kay Swinson, Lib Swinson, Elmer "Buddy" Taylor and David King all of Mount Olive, Donald and Linda Price of Seven Springs, Brenda and Shelton Moore of Seven Springs and Glenn Price of Goldsboro.
Velma was preceded in death by five siblings, Bobby "Ham" Swinson, Leamon G. Swinson, Larry "Tom" Swinson, Faye Swinson Taylor and Peggy Swinson King.
The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service and at other times, will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Price.
