Helen Rogers Ellis, 90, passed away Aug. 17, 2014.
She was a faithful member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Raleigh. Helen proudly served as a Sunday school teacher in the church for more than 30 years, and her love of God was profound in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David J. Rogers and Wrenner P. Rogers; her loving husband, Leslie Ellis; daughter, Brenda C. Stolzenberg, and sisters; Lois Mae R. Howell and Myra R. Jackson.
She is survived by her son, Leslie R. Ellis and wife, Carolyn; grandchildren, Michelle S. Garrison, Charlene S. Ennemoser and husband, Ray, Margery Ellis and Leslie O. Ellis; two great-grandchildren, Gabrielle L. Garrison and Jacob H. Ennemoser; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m.
Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to Duke-Raleigh Hospice.
