HANK DANIELS

Henry Albert "Hank" Daniels, 66, Goldsboro, passed away suddenly Monday at his home.

Hank was born in the Bronx, N.Y., Aug. 24, 1947, to the late Harry J. and Dorothy Daniels.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a fighter pilot, retiring as a major in 1989 after 20 years of faithful service.

Following his military career, Hank went to work with McDonnell Douglas as a platform simulator instructor, later known as Boeing, retiring in 2013 from DRG.

During this time, Hank was also a member of the Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Association.

Hank was a longtime member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Goldsboro. He was devoted to his church, served as president of the Parish Council, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was involved in many activities where he utilized his gifts and abilities to share the love of God.

Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He will be missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Alex Hernandez presiding. Interment will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.

The Knights of Columbus will say a Rosary Friday, July 25, 2014, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, and the family will receive friends following the service until 9 p.m.

Hank is survived by his wife of 44 years, Karen K. Daniels; daughters, Marjorie McGlynn of Maryland, Eileen Daniels of Maryland, Judith Jones of Goldsboro and Theresa Daniels of Maryland; grandchildren, Elizabeth Jones, Jacob Sanders, Jonah McGlynn, Grace McGlynn, Hannah Sanders, Rose McGlynn, Abigail Sanders, Aidan McGlynn and Angelo Van Alst; and brothers, Joseph Daniels of Ohio and Donald Daniels of Florida.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in Hank's memory to St. Mary Catholic Church Building Fund, 1000 N. Jefferson St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
