Alice B. Jackson, 93, beloved wife of Walter W. Jackson and mother of five children, passed away Saturday afternoon, July 19, 2014, at the Brian Center of Goldsboro.

Alice was born July 9, 1921, in Wayne County to the late Lloyd and Thelma Bass.

Alice was a charter member of United in Christ Church.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and devoted wife.

The family will receive friends at Seymour Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2014.

The funeral service will be held at United in Christ Church, with pastor Ira Williford officiating, at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 22, 2014, with interment to follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

She is survived by a half-brother, Anthony; three daughters, Janice and spouse, Joseph Carter, of Pikeville, Carol Brumberg of Niceville, Fla., and Alice Whitley of Dunn; and son, Shirrell and spouse, Patricia Jackson, of Goldsboro. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Woody L. Jackson; daughter-in-law, Joan Jackson; son-in-law, Paul Brumberg; and sisters, Christine Glascock and Lois Jackson.

The family would like to express its deep appreciation to the entire staff of the Brian Center and Community Home Care and Hospice.
