Horace Beecher "Duke" Phillips, 87, Kinston, died Saturday.
Funeral will be tonight at 7 at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ivy White officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Horace was born Feb. 27, 1927, in Lenoir County to the late Horace Abbott Phillips and Amelia Bamburger Phillips. He was married to the late Kathleen Albritton Phillips.
He is survived by a daughter.
Visitation will follow the service.
Arrangements are by Rouse Funeral Home of LaGrange.
