LAVERNE T. YELVERTON

EUREKA -- LaVerne Toler Yelverton, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, June 13, 2014, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
Mrs. Yelverton was born in Wayne County on Oct. 24, 1926, to the late Wilton B. and Nora Ellis Toler. She was a member of Eureka United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Steven R. Yelverton Sr. and wife, Diana of Pikeville and Lynwood Earl Yelverton Jr. and wife, Dianne of West Virginia; two sisters, Hilda Culverwell of Goldsboro and Azalea T. Thompson of Raleigh; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Yelverton was preceded in death by her husband, Lynwood Earl Yelverton Sr.
A time of visitation will be held Tuesday from 1 until 2 p.m. at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 N. Pine St. in Fremont, with a graveside service to follow at Eureka Cemetery.
