PHYLLIS FIELDS BRUNSON

May 19, 1948-June 11, 2014

Phyllis Fields Brunson, 66, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Phyllis was born in Forsythe County on May 19, 1948, to Jane Moore Fields of Goldsboro and the late Ivey Woodard Fields. She had worked as a teacher's assistant with the Onslow County school system. Phyllis enjoyed being a member of the Family Y and was a devoted member of New Hope United Methodist Church.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Wayne Memorial Park with the Rev. Steve Wellman officiating. The family will greet friends Sunday following the service at the cemetery.

In addition to her mother, Phyllis is survived by her sister, Linda F. Blair and husband, Palmer Blair Jr. of Summerfield; and her brother, Edmund Fields of Honolulu, Hawaii. She is also survived by the apples of her eye, her niece and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Laverne F. Reeves.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to New Hope United Methodist Church, 200 E. New Hope Road, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.
