ELTON F. AYCOCK

Elton Fulton "Pinky" Aycock, 75, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.

Elton was born in Wayne County March 29, 1939, to Mildred Scott Aycock of Goldsboro and the late Elton Aycock.

He retired from Wayne County Public Schools after teaching for more than 28 years.

Elton was preceded in death by his wives, Patsey F. Aycock and Amy Cox Aycock, and his brother, Douglas Aycock.

We were blessed by the love of a truly honorable and humble man, who touched the lives of many people, including his students and fellow teachers.

Elton was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and a charter member of Thoroughfare Fire Department, where he served as treasurer for 30 years.

Graveside services for the family will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, with the Rev. Terry Hobbs officiating.

In addition to his mother, Elton is survived by his sons, Chris Aycock and wife, Meritra, of Nashville, Tenn., and Mike Aycock and wife, Kerri, of Goldsboro; stepchildren, Chris Epps of Navaron Harbor, Fla., and Pam Epps of Pine Level; three grandchildren, Parker Aycock, Kalyn Aycock and Kenzi Aycock; and a stepgrandchild, Chelsea Epps.

He is also survived by his brothers, Gene Aycock and George Aycock of Goldsboro, and sister, Beverly Aycock Ricks of Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Mike and Kerri Aycock.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Providence United Methodist Church, 202 Providence Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530, or Thoroughfare Fire Department, 157 Herring Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
