ELEANOR J. HUGHES

Eleanor Josephine Hughes, 92, Calypso, passed away Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
She was born in Spencer Port, N.Y., to the late Faye S. and Grover Tracy, and was the widow of the late Merlin D. Hughes.
Mrs. Hughes was a veteran of the United States Women's Army Air Corps.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home chapel, Tuesday at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Russ Evans officiating.
Family members will greet friends at the home of her daughter, Linda Roberts.
She is survived by her children, Richard Hughes and wife, Susan, of Clifton Park, N.Y., Brent Hughes and wife, JoAnn, of Conway, S.C., and Linda Roberts and husband, Ronnie, of Calypso; a sister, Winifred Swarthout of Ithaca, N.Y.; a nephew, Rob Swarthout; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Two sons, Ronald and Steven Hughes, preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in memory of Eleanor may be directed to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, Va., 23060-9979.
