Candy Elizabeth Muncy Ibrahim Ahmed, 44, Mar Mac area of Goldsboro, passed away Sunday night, May 25, 2014, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday, May 27, at 6 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, and will be conducted by Dr. H. Dennis Draper Jr.
Visitation with the family will follow the service.
Candy's last place of employment was with Southern Belle Restaurant of Mount Olive, where she was a waitress.
She is survived by her husband, Aly Ibrahim Ahmed; two sons, John Anthony Muncy of Mount Olive and Thomas Andrew Muncy of Pikeville; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Muncy of Goldsboro; her mother and stepfather, Ann (longtime Southern Belle waitress) and Tom Comer of Mount Olive; father and stepmother, John Prentice and Cathy Muncy of Nelsonville, Ohio; a brother, Johnny Benjamin Muncy of Tampa, Fla.; and two sisters, Kathy Collins of Columbus, Ohio, and Donna Corsi of Athens, Ohio.
A brother, John Anthony Muncy, preceded her in death.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Tyndall Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses would be appreciated.
Candy's family is grateful to Dr. Chang and her staff at SMOC for their excellent care and concern shown to her during her bout of illness.
