JAMES E. "BUDDY" TALTON

James Everette "Buddy" Talton, 57, 704 Lynch Drive, died Thursday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Born in Wayne County, he was the son of late James Bryant and Elma Rae Jackson Talton.

He was employed as a lineman with Mas-Tec.

He was an avid fisherman and a former assistant Boy Scout leader.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Jeff Dail officiating. Graveside services be Sunday at 3 p.m. in Parrish Memorial Church Cemetery in Pine Level, N.C.

Mr. Talton is survived by his wife of more than 36 years, Brenda "Kaye" Parrish Talton; three sons, James Bryan Talton and wife, Mary Catherine, of Rosewood, Jason Glen Talton and fiancée, Amber Ostheim, and Wesley Mac Barefoot and wife, Penny, of Giddensville, N.C.; five sisters, Willa Mae Thornton of Newton Grove, Sherry Lynn Gilbert of Bentonville, and Mary Dexter, Pearline Davis and Ethel Mae Raynor, all of Goldsboro; and two grandchildren, Ella-Rose Talton and Landon Mac Barefoot.

The family will receive friends Saturday immediately following the service at the funeral home, and at other times, at the home.
