WILLIAM C. MILLARD

William Calvin "Bill" Millard, 77, passed away suddenly Tuesday at his home.
Bill was born in Wayne County Nov. 22, 1936, to the late Carl Milton Millard Sr. and Mary Hinson Millard.
He retired from JCPenney in Goldsboro, where he served in both sales and management for 37 years.
Bill was a 1955 graduate of Goldsboro High School, and was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 15, 2014, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church, followed by a service celebrating Bill's life at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary, with Dr. Glenn Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Bill is survived by his wife of 51 years, Virginia Grady Millard; daughter, Ginna Messer and husband, Aaron, of Durham; and his grandchildren, Ethan Barber and Savannah Messer.
He is also survived by his brothers, Lloyd H. Millard and wife, Patricia, and Dan Millard and wife, Sharon.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Carl M. Millard Jr.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to First Baptist Church, 125 S. John St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
