Geraldine Roberts Evans, 88, Faro, passed away Monday at Willow Creek Nursing and Rehab surrounded by her family.
Geraldine was born in Wayne County, N.C., Dec. 27, 1925, to the late Herman Roberts and Bessie Colt Roberts. She was married to the late Martin Luther Evans Jr.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 12, 2014, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Evans Family Cemetery. The Rev. Smith will officiate.
Geraldine is survived by her children, Lanie Evans and wife, Brenda, of Stantonsburg, Gloria Jean Leopard and husband, Lonnie Leopard Sr., of Stantonsburg and Connie Dale Griffin and husband, Michael, of Lakeland, Fla., and sisters, Helene Faircloth and Virginia Parkman.
She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Glinda Faye Evans, and sister, Gertrude Smith.
