Franklin Delano Millard, 69, known to some as Frank, a lifelong resident of Mount Olive, passed away Wednesday, April 2.

Remembrances services will be held Saturday, April 5, at 6 p.m. at Tyndall's Funeral Home, with pastor Ronnie Wise officiating, followed by visitation. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 6, in Maplewood Cemetery.

Family and friends may also call at the residence of his sister at 224 Woodridge Drive, Mount Olive.

Franklin was the youngest of eight children born to the late William Franklin Millard and Estelle Mathis Millard.

Six brothers, which have preceded him in death, include John Henry "Jay" Millard, James Edward Millard, William Thomas "Bill" Millard, Floyd "Buster" Millard, Robert "Bob" Millard and Norman Jasper Millard.

He is survived by his sister, Martha Millard Powell-Merritt and her husband, Clifton, of Mount Olive, along with a number of nieces and nephews.

Franklin had proudly served in the North Carolina National Guard.

His working career began with employment at Arnold Lee Jackson's Grocery Store, followed by 40 years of loyal service at Boling Chair Co., after which he worked at Mount Olive Piggly Wiggly for a number of years before retirement.
