Eldon Daris McKinney, 84, Pikeville, died Friday at the North Carolina State Veterans Nursing Home in Kinston.
Memorial service will be today at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory.
He was born in Tennessee April 30, 1929, to the late James and Elizabeth McKinney. He was married to the late Opel McKinney.
He is survived by a son and four daughters.
Visitation will follow the service.
